Mrs. Dominique’s Focus group has been working on creating businesses for our town. This week we are creating these businesses with Legos!
Due to maintenance issues affecting the school's plumbing, Angola Middle School will be on a Live eLearning Day today. Students should log in to meet with teachers online following the posted live learning schedule.
A HUGE thanks to our maintenance/custodial staff. They have had a long evening, and face a challenging day tomorrow. They are the best.

We have some big news to celebrate!
The Montessori Early Learning Center (MSDSC's preschool at Carlin Park) has received accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are the first program to be NAEYC accredited in Steuben County and only 1 of 178 programs nationally to receive this status!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the staff members at the ELC and to Jami Hubbard, ELC Director, for her tireless work in bringing all of this to fruition!

Our monster creations are done in Mrs. Baierwalter's 4th grade! These students did a great job creating their monsters. The name of our unit was Monster Mashup.
CONGRATULATIONS to the boys cross country team on making history this past weekend at the Regional Championship race. For the first time since 1954 the Hornets will be sending a team to the state finals! The Team will walk the halls Friday moring at 8am to the applause and cheers from staff and fellow students
Congratulation Angola Marching Hornets on qualifying for the state championship.
The band will perform for the public Thursday at 6:00pm at the football field.
The police will escort the band on their way out of town Satuday Morning at 7:00am.
First grade has been working on a science project called Dig In! We researched to learn about how animals use their external body parts to dig and scoop. The kids worked with a group to design and build a prototype based on an animal's body part that they thought would be good at digging and scooping. They then got to test their prototypes today!
4th graders in Mrs. Baierwalter's classroom at Ryan Park are learning about genetics and making their own monsters. Students will work with a partner to make a monster creation.
Ryan Park 4th graders attended the Bill Blagg "Magic in Motion" show at the Embassy in Ft. Wayne on Tuesday, October 3rd. They learned about Newton's Laws of Motion and the illusions that "break" those laws.
Ryan Park 4th graders have had an amazing few weeks! We have attended the Soil Conservation field trip at Pokagon, History Fest at Commons Park, and enjoyed the wonderful sounds of the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic Quintet.
It was reported to MSD Administration that there was a report of a shooting in town. Per MSD Safety Protocol all MSD buildings were put on a lockdown/hold. After about five minutes the lockdown/hold was lifted after admistration received the all clear from local authorities. All students and staff are safe and all schools have now resumed normal operations.

Special Education Rules Title 511 Article 7 Rule 34 requires that public schools hold a consultation session with parents of home schooled students who have children with a disability or suspected of having a disability that reside in the school district's area. The Metropolitan School District of Steuben County will hold this “Child Find” consultation session on Wed, Sep 20, 2023 at 2:15 PM. The session will be at 400 S. Martha Street, 2nd Floor Board Room.

WLKI invited Superintendent Dr. Matt Widenhoefer and AHS Athletic Director Steve Lantz to the station to brag about the amazing start to the school year. Dr. Widenhoefer shared all the great things he has seen happening so far this year and all the school facility improvements. Mr. Lantz made sure to invite the community to support the football team on Friday for their home opener at 7:30pm against John Glenn High School.
5th graders at Ryan Park received their new chromebooks last week. Our chromebook 1to1 policy allows each student to have their own device. This gives our district the ability to have e-learning days both scheduled and weather related. These devices will stay with our 5th graders now and throughout and Middle school.
Reminder for incoming Kindergarten and First Grade Ryan Park parents. We will have an informational meeting by your teachers on Thursday, August 3. Kindergarten will be at 5:30, and First Grade will be at 6:30. Feel free to bring any of your child's supplies, but children do not need to attend.
