The MSD of Steuben County 2024-2025 school calendar was approved two years ago to help families plan for school events, including graduation. However, the Indiana High School Athletic Association moved all of its calendar events back one week for the 2024-2025 school year. Unfortunately, this has caused a conflict between the spring sporting events that our senior students will participate in and our graduation ceremony. We want to make sure that all of our senior students have the opportunity to participate in their extracurricular activities and their graduation ceremony. For this reason, we are rescheduling the class for the 2025 graduation ceremony from Thursday, May 29th 7:00 p.m. to Friday, May 30th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hornet Football Stadium.

Carlin Park Community-
Do you know how lucky we are in our district? Our students are engaged every day in learning new and exciting things that develop connections with curriculum. They are experiencing science through deep thinking, and all of our students are receiving amazing art lessons that are orchestrated by our district Art teacher, Erin Coatney. We have Junior Achievement lessons presented by community volunteers, and our very own EL team, Mrs. Carmona and Mrs. Gilbert give their time during PE to build relationships with our students. We are providing a well rounded education for ALL students in MSDSC! What a great place to learn and grow!

Good morning to the Carlin Park Community-
It was a complete joy to see all of our beautiful children back at school yesterday, January 6th, 2025. Wow 2025! I just wanted to thank you for sending us the best students on the planet. We are working diligently everyday to meet our goals. Your children and our staff have been working so hard to continue to achieve excellence. One of our goals is based on attendance. We know it is flu season, but if your children aren't sick, please make sure they are at school and on time. The only area we didn't grow on the state dashboard last year was in attendance. We will change that this year. Thank you for your unwavering support! Together, we will reach the TOP!
Also- on Thursday (1/9/2025) and Friday (1/10/2025) we will be wearing our favorite college team wear to support the NCAA Football Playoffs. Please feel free to send your children in college gear on those days as our staff will be wearing, with pride, their favorite college attire.

This is just a reminder that we have a music program on Wednesday, December 18th at 1:00 P.M. for our FIRST and SECOND graders. We hope to see you there!

The Angola Mayor's Art Council sponsored a Christmas Card Contest and one winner was chosen from each school. The Mayor actually chose the winners. Join us in congratulating our own Natalie Thompson. Natalie is a 5th grader in Mrs. Dean's class here at Carlin Park. Well done Miss Natalie.

Students in the education pathway at AHS are excited to partner with K-2 students and teachers this week! They've been helping assess reading skills at our elementary schools. It's wonderful to see our youngest readers progressing and our oldest students getting work experience!
