IREAD Family Night
Despite the frigid weather and a couple of days at home, Ryan Park First Graders still celebrated 101 day today! Students completed a science experiment to figure out if it takes more or less than 101 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, as well as math tasks and writing tasks about things that they would love to have 101 of.

1st graders at Ryan Park enjoyed Candy Cane Day! Students completed an experiment and formed their hypotheses on whether warm or cold water would dissolve a candy cane faster. Students studied 2 different legends of the candy cane and then wrote an opinion piece on which legend they felt was true and why. Students took data on which candy cane was more popular in the candy cane exchange based on color.

Ryan Park Elementary showcased their holiday spirit last Friday. The 1st and 2nd graders took the lead, presenting a festive performance directed by Allison Arnos. The show featured everything from rapping reindeer to the lively Lords a Leaping. The event also included a special visit from Mayor Martin, who announced the winner of the Ryan Park Christmas Card competition. It was a heartwarming and memorable way to wrap up the week!
