AMS Football vs Churubusco:
On Tuesday, our 7th graders won 7-6 to earn a 1-1 record. 8th graders fall 34-6 and have a record of 0-2.
MS Volleyball
Last night started with a tough Eastside, the girls volleyball competed strong but fell short in both sets.
AMS 6th Grade VB:
Our 6th graders competed against a tough Eastside squad last night in their first road game. They lost the first match with the A team 20-25 (L) and 22-25 (L). They split the second match with the B team 20-25 (L) and 25-19 (W).
AMS Girls XC : Our girls fought hard and beat East Noble but lost to an excellent Dekalb team. Summer Ross won the event in 12:12, the fastest Angola time since 2017. Rounding out our scoring was Macy Newhard (8th, 14:38), Whitnee Huff (12th, 14:59), Harper Yoder (13th, 15:01) and Willow Johnson (21st, 15:58)
AMS Boys XC:
The boys dominated the competition and winning the event over really good team in Dekalb and East Noble . AMS placed 5 in the top 9 and getting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Owen Fletcher won the event in 10:31, the fastest Angola time in at least 18 years (since Coach Kays was a middle schooler). Evan Kolar was 2nd with 11:00. Levi Biddle was 3rd with 11:26. Cruz Everage was 7th with 11:57. Anthony Camillo was 9th with 12:04 to round out our scoring.
We’re looking forward to conference play starting next Tuesday.
Child Find Meeting: Special Education Rules Title 511 Article 7 Rule 34 requires that public schools hold a consultation session with parents of homeschooled students who have children with a disability or suspected of having a disability that resides in the school district's area. The Metropolitan School District of Steuben County will hold this “Child Find” consultation session on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The session will be at 400 S. Martha Street, 2nd Floor Board Room.

Last night both 7th and 8th grade football teams battled but fell short against tough East Noble teams. They played very well but ran out of time. 7th score was 30-12. 8th score was 20-0.
Stinger and Dr. Matt Widenhoefer are bringing the school spirit and wish all our teams good luck this weekend, week, and season!
AMS Boys Soccer 2-0 to start the season with a 9-1 victory last night against Central Noble. Great Job!
Awesome start to the volleyball season for 6th graders last night against Dekalb's A and B teams. In Game 1 , AMS won in 2 sets with scores of 29-27 and 25-20. In Game 2 , AMS battled from behind to win in 3 sets with scores of 18-25 (L), 25-23 (W) and 15-14 (W).
The middle school lighthouse team is working on creating reminders of the seven habits they learned in Leader in Me lessons. The papers will be hung together in a collage that will brighten the school walls.
Congratulations to a fantastic team effort last night by the AMS Boys Soccer Team. They defeated Oak Farm 11-0 with 7 different players scoring a goal.
All Angola Middle School Outdoor Athletic Events for tonight are cancelled. We will still have 6th grade volleyball game tonight.
Yesterday, AMS XC team finished 4th out of 14 teams. It was Hokum Karem style, with teams of one boy and one girl. The team of Summer Ross/Owen Fletcher finished first overall with a time of 24:44, a course record by almost 40 seconds. The sky is the limit for the XC team.

We are excited to open the 2024 football season tomorrow night. We will be hosting DeKalb with a 7 PM kickoff.
Starting at 4:30, Cameron Hospital is bringing their Kid Fun Zone and the Trine National Champion Men's Basketball team will be around to greet and sign autographs. The Hornet team store in the new facility will be open so you can grab your new gear.
Stadium gates open at 5:30.
We are very excited that our new parking lot is fully open! There are many more handicap spots available for those needing this accessibility. For those still opting to park in front of the middle school, please plan to enter the stadium via the tennis courts and the east ticket gate.
Mr. Hammond's multimedia class has been very busy. One of the projects they do is a weekly news show called High Five News. Students plan, film and edit the show, when completed it is shown to the school. The latest episode featured a dance contest between students and staff. The show is available on our YouTube channel. Check out the amazing stuff our students are doing.

Student athletes and parents filled the gym tonight for an athletic information meeting. Love seeing the support our community has for our sports programs. Thank to all who attended!
Tomorrow is Wednesday, and it's our first one hour delay for professional learning of the school year! All buildings start one hour later, buses run one hour later, but drop off at the regular time is available if needed. This will happen every Wednesday during the school year.
